AVOID – PLEASE READ IF YOU WANT PEACE AND QUIET AND/OR WANT A SEASON PITCH

We were assured peace & quiet (“we’re strict on noise”), and a 12 month season pitch with no
restrictions, so we happily paid £2,450 for a pitch. T’s & C’s provided on arrival (31 Mar 2024) stated
max stay of 28 consecutive days, no mention of how long to leave for. Run by a father and son.
Site full of workmen (in touring and long-term fields), getting up early (5/6 in the morning) making lots of noise – breaking quiet hours stated in T’s & C’s. Had to move pitch several times but couldn’t escape noise which made it exhausting and miserable to be there. Season pitches in a mess, covered in dirty old Astro turf, or mud. Felt like a cross between a building site or travellers’ site, not a pleasant place to be.

We stuck to the 28 day rule & quite often left for a couple of weeks each time, largely because we
didn’t like it there. After 5/6 months, the owners started saying a season pitch had a max stay of
100 days but didn’t say or do anything else about it, or produce any official documentation stating
this. We, rightly or wrongly, ignored them as we were sticking to the T’s & C’s provided and didn’t
want an argument. Eventually it ended in two separate arguments with the owners. We said we’d “happily” leave if refunded the cost of the time left (c.4 months/£800) & they agreed but refund wasn’t given. Spoke to them again, and were suddenly told that we had only paid for a pitch up end of Dec 2024 (8 months)!! They do not do season pitches like this, only 12 month ones.

Obviously, they had no intention of refunding anything and they were adamant we could not stay. In the end, we were happy to leave as it’s a noisy, uncomfortable site, with questionable management. Have sought advice on how to claim our money back through the credit card, have reported to trading standards, and will go to small claims court if necessary. We were warned by other long termers at various points to watch our backs as they knew what the owners are like. If only we’d known before we parted with our money!

Ran by the rudest man ive ever met. Done his best to make us feel completely unwelcome from the moment we turned up.

Also constantly raising the prices and packing people in... Oh and selling out of date food in their shop.

Horrible money grabbing people

Fantastic campsite! Clean, quiet, friendly, spacious, green, with plenty of facilities - an ocean of calm in a busy world. Highly recommended!

We have stayed at this site numerous times. Site is immaculate both the pitches and the toilet/ shower blocks. The management and staff are very helpful and friendly. They advise places to eat and visit and provide a folder for guests to look at re places of interest. Good size plots not even cramped when they are busy which they always seem to be so that speaks for itself. A well stocked shop on site which sells the essentials but large stores just down the road. 10 out of 10 for this fabulous site.

Nothing to do with the site but the large group who reviewed below. Don't normally name but Adallison party you were awful..my partner went into the gents and got soaked by the two lads and toilets blocked by them stuffing paper down them..Do you allow them to do that at home??? I doubt it!!! A little respect for others would have been nice.. I appreciate people like to have a good time; don't we all, but their is a limit and your noise was far too extreme! The management dealt appropriately...On more than one occasion you were spoken too.Never in all the years we have toured or stayed on this site have I seen and heard such a disruptive family.... So pleased you left so everyone else could enjoy their break....

Site is absolutely lovely, but should come with a 'kids not allowed' clause.

We had a family gathering here for the weekend, about 20-30 of us, and on one evening 2 of the young boys of the group decided it would be a good idea to have a mini water fight in the shower block. The management were understandably annoyed and requested that it either be cleaned up or we leave. The boys were very apolgetic, the water cleaned up and it was all resolved from there. So we thought! The next morning at around 10:15am, in TORRENTIAL rain, the management came round and said he wanted all of us off the site by 10am (impossible), due to the water incident from the previous night, or else we'd have to pay for another night. When some agreed to pay for the additional night, just because putting down a 6 man tent in a downpour isn't anybody's idea of fun, he put the price up from the usual £16 to £20!!! Absolutely outrageous, no long term damage was caused (it was water in a bathroom!) and basically he just wanted his moneey's worth from the large group.

Would not recommend, management have obviously never been young and also go back on previous agreements (tidy or leave). Absolutely disgusting and actually illegal!

This is a superb site, the cleanest toilet block ever. Staff friendly and very helpful. The pitches are first class and the grass is manicured to perfection. Though close to amenities it is totally in the country.
Excellent location for the coast and places of interest. We shall be visiting again - soon.
