Adventure Camping is a family friendly and dog friendly campsite in Devon, close to the town of Abbotsham within the popular Ultimate Adventure Centre.
This campsite is open all year, and welcomes guests with tents, touring caravans and campervans. In addition, Atlantic Lodges and Log Cabins are available for guests to hire.
If you've come here for a spot of camping in North Devon, you can choose between a basic camping adventure by simply turning up and pitching your home from home, or book a hardstanding pitch with electric hook-up, several of which are available at the park.
Facilities available for guests staying at Adventure Camping include heated shower and toilet blocks, and electrical sockets for those not staying on a pitch with an electric hook-up. The site also has a fire pit available for hire alongside charcoal barbecues.
There is also an on-site café serving hot and cold food and drink all day, ensuring guests can pick up refreshments whenever they need them. A supermarket and a friendly country pub are both found within one mile of the park, so guests can stock up on groceries and other holiday essentials without any trouble, or spend time enjoying local food and drink elsewhere.
All of the activities at the Ultimate Adventure Centre are available for guests to enjoy during their camping and caravan holidays in Devon. There are high ropes you can climb and walk along way above the ground, there's mountain boarding for adrenaline junkies and other exciting activities including water zorbing, kayaking and surfing.
Away from the campsite there is also much to do, with the whole of Devon and Cornwall within reach for guests looking for great landscapes and attractions.
Adventure Camping is close to the coast and guests can walk right down to the local beaches, which despite the wide range of activities taking place are largely rugged and unspoiled. Many sections of the Devon coastline are designated Heritage Coast, and in addition to the beaches there are caves to explore, you can go rockpooling, plus there are miles upon miles of walking and cycling trails. The South West Coastal Path can be joined close to the park and is the most famous and popular route in the area – as well as being a super way to see the region.
Taking the car around the coast will introduce guests to the great coastal towns and fishing villages found across Devon and Cornwall. Many of them have quirky local businesses, welcoming pubs, beach front cafés and restaurants. Tourists not content with eating delicious seafood as it is brought in from the sea can even arrange a fishing trip with local fishermen – in most of the villages such requests are welcomed and easily accommodated.
Adventure Camping is located near the A39, making it easy to find and get to, as well as a great base from which to explore the area. Barnstaple is a 20-minute drive away, Porlock on the North Somerset coast and the far side of the Exmoor National Park is about an 80-minute drive away and will reward your journey with breathtaking views, plus the city of Exeter is also an 80-minute drive away and there's the stunning cathedral to take in.
There's a fire pit that can be hired. And as the campsite is set within the Ultimate Adventure Centre, there's many great things to do.
